Manchester United are constantly linked with Sporting CP star Bruno Fernandes and on almost daily basis, there are reports linking him with a move to Old Trafford.
As per a recent report covered by A Bola, clubs like Tottenham and Inter Milan are interested in luring the Portuguese international but Man Utd are clearly in the front line to hire his services.
Transfer: Man United prepared to agree massive £23.4million-a-year terms to sign star
The Portuguese outlet have mentioned that the Primeira Liga club are looking to accept the departure of their attacking midfielder for a maximum fee (in cash) of 80 million euros (£71million) and the Red Devils have looked at the possibilities of meeting the asking price (cash + add-ons).
Last season, record signing Paul Pogba was our top scorer with 16 goals in all competitions and he is currently wanted by Spanish giants Real Madrid (L’Equipe)
On the other hand, our top scoring center forward was Belgian international Romelu Lukaku. The former Everton star netted 15 goals in all competitions and he is also linked with a move away from Old Trafford.
According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, the 26-year-old striker already has an agreement in place with the Inter Milan.
Even in the presence of the club’s two most expensive signings (Pogba £89million (BBC) and Lukaku £75million (BBC)), we finished 6th in the Premier League. So, reinforcements are desperately required.
As far as Bruno Fernandes is concerned, the Seleccao star is naturally a central attacking midfielder and he scored 32 goals in all competitions for Sporting CP in the recently concluded season.
The 24-year-old is a versatile talent and Portugal and Sporting CP have also utilized him in the central midfield position. Last season, our top three goalscorers (Pogba, Lukaku and Rashford) directly contributed in 65 goals (BBC) while Fernandes directly contributed in 50 goals alone.
At the moment, we do not have a quality CAM in our squad and we should secure the signing of Fernandes as soon as possible.
