Manchester United are mainly linked with proven quality players as per recent reports going on in the media.

Now, the Old Trafford club are also linked with a talented youngster in the form of French international and AS Saint-Etienne defender William Saliba.

According to Le10Sport, United are particularly positioned to sign the teenage starlet – valued at 30 million euros (£26million) – from the Ligue 1 club in the summer transfer window.

Transfer: Club could offer £427million star to Manchester United

The French outlet have mentioned that the possibility that Man Utd will concretely advance in the comings weeks for the youngster is serious. It is further stated that the PL giants know what to do to get his signing done. Saint-Etienne do want to have the player on loan for next season.

In all fairness, not much is known about the 18-year-old boy, who has broken into the first team of the French side this season.

So far, he has only featured in 13 games in all competitions and suddenly, Le10Sport have claimed that he has caught the eye of several major European clubs. As far as his senior international career is concerned, so far, he has only played three times for France’s U19 team.

Saliba is a versatile talent, who is naturally a center half but at times, he has also played in the right back position.

United need to sign a top central defender and for the right back position, they need a quality player to replace Valencia. So, for now, spending £26million on Saliba and loaning him back makes little sense.

We shall see how the transfer story unfolds in the coming weeks?
