Report – Man Utd could consider negotiating with club to sign versatile midfielder

Manchester United need to improve their midfield department and they are linked with Atletico Madrid star Saul Niguez.

Earlier this month, ESPN reported that the Red Devils have joined the race to hire the services of the Spanish international, who has got a release clause of 150 million euros (£128million) in his contract.

Now, a renowned Spanish outlet in the form of Marca have claimed that Man Utd could consider negotiating with the Rojiblancos to sign the 24-year-old star. It is further mentioned that the Red Devils would never opt to pay his mammoth release clause.

As far our midfield is concerned, Herrera is going to turn 30 and Matic will turn 31 in August. The duo are past their best in my opinion and they should be replaced in the summer transfer window.

Matic is currently our main defensive midfielder and we need to sign a quality star to replace him. Personally, I would like the club to move for Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey.

On the other hand, Herrera is the most experienced central midfielder in our team but I think, he is nowhere as good as Saul Niguez, who is one of the most versatile midfielders in the world.

At 24, the La Roja star is at the peak of his game and Solskjaer should do whatever it takes to lure him to Old Trafford.

The above mentioned release clause is a huge one but if I were Diego Simeone then I would have demanded full payment of the clause to let Niguez leave because he is actually that good.
