Manchester United are getting closer and closer to finally hiring the services of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace.
Manchester United have not officially confirmed the move as yet but if reports are to be believed then the signing has been secured.
Transfer: Man Utd believe they will be clear to secure signing of £70million attacker
Yesterday, Deadline Day specialist, Jim White, confirmed that the England international has agreed a five year contract with the Red Devils with an option for a further year as well.
More recently, BBC have also reported that the 21-year-old has agreed a five year deal (worth £20.8million) with the Old Trafford club that will make him earn £80,000-a-week, eight times more than his deal at Selhurst Park.
The British source have claimed that the player has signed for Man United for a fee worth £50million. However, neither Crystal Palace nor United have formally confirmed the transfer as yet.
With the above mentioned price, Wan-Bissaka will become the sixth most expensive defender of all time.
Over the years, Antonio Valencia mainly played in the right back role for United. Last season, the Ecuadorian international was mostly out of the first team squad and Ashley Young played as the club’s first choice right back. Recently, Valencia was allowed to leave United and he has signed for LDU Quito (MUFC).
It must be remembered that veteran duo of Young and Valencia are natural wingers and since the retirement of legendary manager, Alex Ferguson, the right back position has never been adequately reinforced. In Wan-Bissaka, United are getting a natural right back but will he be able to shine at Old Trafford? Only time will tell.
