Manchester United need a top midfielder to finally replace Paul Pogba and reports indicate that they are mad about signing Nicolo Barella.

According to Sport Mediaset (via FC Inter News), the likes of Man Utd, Liverpool, Man City and Newcastle are crazy about luring the decorated star from Inter Milan.

Transfer: Man Utd submit offer to sign £51.6m Selecao player

Erik ten Hag needs to improve the quality and depth in the center of the park and the Dutch manager seriously lacks a midfielder who can regularly score and create goals.

In our current central midfield, we have Casemiro, Fred, Eriksen and McTominay. The Danish international is the perhaps the most creative player but he will turn 32 next year.

Barella is a proven quality star, who has directly contributed in 19 goals (9 goals and 10 assists) so far in the current campaign.

The 26-year-old has won every major domestic title with the Nerazzurri and was a key member of Roberto Mancini’s squad that won the European Championships two years ago.

He now has the chance to become a European Champion at club level as Inter Milan will collide against Premier League winners, Manchester City, in the Champions League final in Istanbul on Saturday.

Barella’s current contract with the Serie A giants will expire in 2026 and as per a report covered by Football Insider last month, he could be lured for a fee of £61million in the summer transfer window.

In your view, should Man Utd offer £61million to secure his signing?
