Report – Man Utd submit offer to sign £51.6m Selecao player

Erik ten Hag - Manchester United manager

Manchester United have been in search of a new right back for some time and the name of Vanderson is once again in the lime light.

Back in September 2022, we covered a report via Sport stating that the Red Devils have initiated movements to hire the services of the Brazilian full-back.

Transfer: Man Utd prepared to agree £5.2million a year deal for signing – Report

More recently, the Spanish media outlet have revealed (press image provided below) that Man Utd have submitted an offer to sign Vanderson from Monaco.

The Catalan news source claim Barcelona are interested in signing the 21-year-old as well but they want to postpone the recruitment of a new right back for a year.

Apart from United, other PL sides have also made offers and the asking price is still the same as it was reported last year i.e. 60 million euros (£51.6m).

At the moment, Erik ten Hag has got Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka to feature in the right back role.

Dalot is Man Utd’s first choice RB and last month, he even signed a new contract until 2028. On the other hand, Wan-Bissaka, whose contract is expiring in 2024, also proved to be brilliant in the second half of the season.

Vanderson is a speedy starlet, who can feature anywhere on the right side of the field. Last season, Monaco even utilized him as a right midfielder and a winger.

He started 24 games in the Ligue 1 for the French side, scored a goal and provided 5 assists. He has been named in the Selecao squad for the upcoming fixtures against Guinea and Senegal.

Have your say – Do Man Utd need a new fullback? Should they offer £51.6m to sign Vanderson?
