According to recent reports, Man United are heavily linked with England international and Dortmund starlet Jadon Sancho.
A week back, we covered a report (via The Sun) claiming that United are preparing a huge war chest to hire the services of the £190,000-a-week attacker in the winter transfer window.
Transfer: Report – Man Utd will bid to sign “quality” £80million star in winter
However, as per the latest update provided by London Evening Standard, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in no rush and is prepared to wait until next summer to strengthen his squad, with Sancho remaining the top transfer target.
Opinion:
Sancho is a top quality winger, who had a fantastic campaign with Dortmund last term and so far, in the current season, he has directly contributed in 6 goals (3 goals and 3 assists) in just 4 appearances.
In my view, the Three Lions winger should be lured in the winter transfer window because our attack is just not good enough at the moment.
Lukaku has already left and Sanchez is about to depart as well (ES) and we only managed to sign young Daniel James for our attack in the summer transfer window.
Yes, Lukaku and Sanchez failed to shine at Old Trafford and their departure is not going to hurt the supporters. Still, they were big signings, who should be adequately replaced. The Chilean international is the highest earner at the club and the Belgian striker was signed for a huge fee of £75million from Everton (The Mail).
Therefore, it is baffling that Solksjaer is prepared to wait for the next summer’s transfer window to complete major deals. The Norwegian manager must look to sign quality stars in winter.
