Report – Man United ready to welcome £100,000-a-week star – Face competition

Koulibaly and Skriniar

Manchester United are once again linked with Senegalese international Kalidou Koulibaly, who is reportedly available for cheap this summer.

Last year, the Red Devils were prepared to make an offer worth 85 million euros (La Repubblica) to sign the Napoli star, who earns a salary of 6 million euros per season (£100,000-a-week). However, the central defender stayed put in Italy.

Transfer: Man Utd ready to agree £198,000-a-week deal to sign star – Report

Now as per the latest update recently provided by Tutto Sport (via Calcio Napoli 24), Koulibaly’s agent Fali Ramadani is looking to find a new club for his client and the Naples based side are demanding a fee of 45-50 million euros from the sale of their prized asset.

The Italian outlet have claimed that Man Utd are ready to welcome the 29-year-old star but they are not the only ones in the race. The likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are mentioned as well.

It must be remembered that the German champions have already signed a new center back in the form of Dayot Upamecano from RB Leipzig.

On the other hand, the Los Blancos have secured the signature of David Alaba, who left the Bavarians to move to the Bernabeu for free.

Koulibaly, who will turn 30 next month, has been one of the best central defenders in the Serie A over the years. He was named in the Italian League’s Team of the Season in 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19. Moreover, he has won the Senegal POTY award two times.

In the last few games of the campaign, it was evident that the Man Utd defense is shaky without skipper Harry Maguire. In such a scenario, it is important to lure a center back who can command the backline with authority.

In your view, should Man Utd splash around 50 million euros to finally sign Kalidou Koulibaly?
