Manchester United conceded 54 goals in the Premier League and deservedly finished the season outside the top four.

The Red Devils need a massive overhaul in the summer transfer window and the back-line must be strengthened at all costs.

According to an exclusive report covered by The Sun, the Red Devils are looking to sign Crystal Palace duo Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Patrick Van Aanholt in a deal worth £50million.

The British source have claimed that United reckon a deal could be done to hire the services of both the fullbacks.

Transfer: Deal close – Man Utd signing could be agreed imminently

As far as United’s right back situation is concerned, Valencia has left the club, veteran Young is past his best and Dalot is inexperienced and not good enough as yet to regularly start.

Therefore, a top right back must be signed and Wan-Bissaka, who had an impressive campaign last term, fits the bill.

At the other end, Shaw is United’s first choice left back and he recently won the club’s Player of the Year award.

The England international was arguably United’s most consistent defender in the last campaign and he must start next season as well.

However, there is no quality player to cover for Shaw. So, an experienced 28-year-old like Van Aanholt would be a good addition. The Dutch international has got a peach of a left foot and last season, he scored three goals and provided two assists in the league for Palace.
