Manchester United have been heavily linked with Barcelona central defender, Ronald Araujo, and the latest reports are not so positive.
A few days ago, Mundo Deportivo covered a story stating that the Red Devils are in pole position to hire the services of the Uruguayan star, whose current deal with the Spanish side will expire in 2023.

More recently, yesterday, the famous news source covered another story (press image provided below) and claimed that the Catalan club have made an effort to improve the perks and benefits of the player by offering him a five-year deal.
MD have mentioned that the offer submitted by Man Utd is far superior to the proposal put on the table by the La Liga club. However, the player has made his decision and ruled out a move to Old Trafford because he has everything in Barcelona.
It is stated that United have been pushing hard but Araujo prioritizes success at Barca. The 22-year-old has just bought a house, he has recently become a father and he feels loved by both the management and the supporters. Therefore, the agreement should soon be sealed.
Last night, the £50.2million-rated star featured for full 90 minutes against Alaves and helped Barcelona keep a clean sheet and earn all three points.
Man Utd have already conceded 30 goals in just 22 league games, the teams above them have not even conceded 20 goals in the Premier League this term.
