The renowned Portuguese news outlet have mentioned that Man Utd have submitted a salary offer to sign Ugarte from the Lions.

The 22-year-old midfielder is expected to leave the Liga Nos giants in the summer and currently, he is analyzing the proposals made by United, PSG and the Blues.

Ugarte’s current deal will expire in 2026 and he will only be allowed to leave if the exit clause of 60 million euros is met (£51.5m).

The former Fenix defensive midfielder started 28 games in the recently concluded Primeira Liga campaign and helped the team keep 13 clean sheets.

So far, he has made eight appearances for the senior international side. He was part of Uruguay’s World Cup squad but did not feature in any game in Qatar.

Man Utd do need to improve things in the center of the park but they actually need a creative central midfielder as Ten Hag has not replaced Pogba as yet.

As far as the holding midfield position is concerned, the 20-time English champions already have a world class DM in the form of Casemiro and he is irreplaceable in the starting lineup.
