Manchester United are linked with top goal keepers with David De Gea’s future at Old Trafford up in the air.
Portuguese international, Diogo Costa, has been associated with the Red Devils for some time and the latest reports indicate that Man Utd lead to agree his signing.
Transfer: Record – Man Utd ready to pay £99million fee to secure signing
Today, Correio da Manha (news image provided below) have looked at the valuations of the Porto players and reported that the team is worth 278 million euros.
The most valuable Dragons player as per Transfermarkt is Diogo Costa, rated at 45 million euros, but the value is well short of the 75 million euros release clause (£64million) in his contract.
CdM claim the £64million exit clause might not be enough to keep him because top European clubs are seriously chasing his signature.
It is reported that among the suitors, Man Utd are “at the head” to secure the signing of the 23-year-old star.
Two days ago, we covered a story via A Bola claiming that the Red Devils are prepared to meet the release clause to sign Costa.
He featured in 41 games for Porto and kept 20 clean sheets. The goalie helped Portugal reach the quarter finals of the FIFA World Cup.
The Old Trafford outfit conceded 43 goals in the recently concluded Premier League season, only Manchester City and Newcastle conceded fewer.
A lot of credit goes to David De Gea, who returned to form and kept the highest number of clean sheets. However, the Spaniard will be out of contract this month.
In your view, should Man Utd sign Costa to finally replace the La Roja shot stopper?
