According to a story published by La Gazzetta Dello Sport today (news image provided below), new manager, Erik ten Hag, is looking to strengthen his squad for the next campaign and he wants to start the spending by luring a top defender.
The famous Italian media outlet have mentioned that the Red Devils have spent a lot of cash to sign defenders over the years and they are studying the right offer to capture Bastoni from the Nerazzurri.
GdS claim that for the 23-year-old, Man Utd have been told that an offer of 60 million euros will be accepted, anything less than that will not be considered by the Serie A giants.
The young center half was an important member of Antonio Conte’s side that won the Scudetto in the 2020-21 campaign. He featured in 33 games in the Italian league and helped Inter keep 14 clean sheets.
In the recently concluded Serie A season, Bastoni started 29 games and once again helped the team keep 14 clean sheets. However, they lost out on the title to rivals AC Milan.
As far as his international career is concerned, so far, the former Atalanta player has made 11 appearances for the Azzurri and he was part of the squad that won the European Championships last year.
