Manchester United spent heavy to strengthen their squad in the summer transfer window but they did not invest to adequately improve their attacking department.
The club let go experienced players like Lukaku and Sanchez and lured a young winger in the form of Daniel James.
If reports in the media are anything to go by then the Red Devils are interested in signing German international Kai Havertz.
According to The Sunday Express, Man United have been told that they will have to pay a mammoth fee of £90million to hire the services of the Bundesliga attacker.
The British source have mentioned that the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool are also looking to secure the Kaiser’s signature.
The 20-year-old can play anywhere in the attacking third but mainly, he is a central attacking midfielder. United do need a quality CAM and in recent weeks, they have been linked with stars like Fernandes (Correio da Manha), Maddison (ESPN) and Eriksen (The Sun).
Last season, Havertz was impressive for Bayer Leverkusen. In 33 league starts, he scored 17 goals and also provided 4 assists to help his team finish fourth in the table (automatic CL group stage qualification).
Moreover, in Europe, he played 6 games in the EL, scored 3 goals and also provided 3 assists. As far as the current season is concerned, so far, he has scored 2 goals in 7 appearances.
As far as his international career is concerned, so far, Havertz has played five times for the European giants under the management of Joachim Low.
In your view, who should United sign to reinforce their CAM position?
