Report – Man Utd very close to agreeing £67million+ signing

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic Lazio

Manchester United have been linked with Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic since last year and now reports suggest that the midfielder is very close to moving to Old Trafford.

According to La Repubblica, Real Madrid have accelerated their efforts to sign Paul Pogba and at the same time Man United are in negotiations to lure Milinkovic-Savic. Is is stated that the 24-year-old is about to move to Manchester United for a fee of over 75 million euros (£67million) plus add-ons.

The renowned Italian source have claimed that the player will sign a five year contract with the Red Devils.

On the other hand, as per AS, United have looked at the likes of Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes to replace Pogba but they are closing in on a deal to lure Milinkovic-Savic.

The Spanish source have stated that the 20-time English champions are very close to reaching an agreement with the Serie A club to sign the former Genk midfielder. Like La Repubblica, AS have also stated that the player would cost 75 million euros plus bonuses.

Pogba is our record signing and in all fairness, he has been far too inconsistent and never performed at his best for an entire campaign. Therefore, I would not mind if he is sold this summer.

The French international is a creative central midfielder and if he does end up leaving the club, then a natural central midfielder should be signed to replace him and in such a scenario, Milinkovic-Savic fits the bill.

The likes of Eriksen and Fernandes can effective play in the center of the park as well but naturally, both of them are attacking midfielders.

We were far behind Liverpool and Man City in terms of goals scored last season and therefore, in my view, a top quality attacking midfielder should be lured as well.

United have been linked (Record) with Bruno Fernandes all summer long. The Portuguese international regularly scored and created goals (32 goals and 18 assists) for Sporting CP in the last campaign and he would be a quality addition if Solksjaer can somehow get his signing done.
