Report – Man Utd would be willing to pay £26.4million to get signing done

Manchester United need reinforcements in several departments in the summer transfer window and a new name is in the lime light.

According to AS, Manchester United would be willing to pay 30 million euros (£26.4million) to hire the services of Spanish international and Real Betis defender Junior Firpo.

Transfer: Man Utd have moved in with offer to sign £44million star

The Spanish outlet have mentioned that the 22-year-old’s contract with the La Liga club will expire in 2023 and it has a release clause of 50 million euros.

Opinion:

The Dominican born starlet is a versatile talent, who can effectively play in the left midfield role as well. In the recently concluded league campaign, Firpo scored 3 goals and provided 4 assists as well.

As far as Manchester United’s full-back situation is concerned, we definitely need a proven quality right back to replace the likes of Valencia and Young. Dalot is still young and could be used as the second choice RB.

On the left hand side, we have Luke Shaw. The England international has taken a lot of time to settle at Old Trafford but I’m glad that now he has. Our back-line was horrible in the last campaign and he was the only shining star.

The former Southampton man won the club’s Player of the Season award and I think it was well deserved.

Still, in my view, we do not have an adequate back-up option for Shaw and therefore, someone like Junior Firpo should be lured.

In your view, who should United sign to strengthen their full-back positions?
