Report – Manchester United close to £13.4million player – Face serious competition

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United are linked with numerous central defenders and now a new name is in the lime light in the form of Turkish international Ozan Kabak.

According to Kicker, there is serious competition for securing the signature of the young defender as top European clubs are interested.

The German source have claimed that Bayern are looking to talk to the player’s management. Furthermore the likes of Manchester United, Schalke, Monaco, West Ham United and AC Milan are also close to the Stuttgart starlet, who is valued at 15 million euros (£13.4million).

Transfer: Report – Man United beat Arsenal to secure striker signing

In 2017, Kabak captained the Turkish national team at the U-17 European Championships and in that competition, he started and completed every game. The Turks were defeated by England in the semi finals and Kabak was listed as one of the top ten players to watch by UEFA.

In the last campaign, the 19-year-old central defender spent the first half of the season on loan with Turkish side Galatasaray and made 13 league appearances.

However, in winter, Stuttgart, who were struggling in the Bundesliga opted to bring Kabak back. He made 15 league appearances for the German club and scored three goals.

Unfortunately, Stuttgart finished 16th in the table and were relegated after losing the Bundesliga playoffs vs Union Berlin on away goals. On the other hand, Galatasaray stepped up in the second half of the campaign and retained the Super Lig title.

As far as United are concerned, they do have five experienced central defenders in the first team squad (Jones, Bailly, Rojo, Lindelof and Smalling), still, they conceded goals on regular basis in the last campaign.

The Red Devils badly need a leader in their defense in the form of a top quality center half and Kabak does not seem ready for now. In your view, who should Solskjaer sign to strengthen his central defense?
