Manchester United star David De Gea is ready to put pen to paper on a new deal if reports in the media are anything to go by.
Few days back, The Mail reported that the Spanish international is looking to earn around £300,000-a-week.
More recently, The Sun have exclusively revealed that Manchester United could agree a huge deal that will make the former Atletico man earn £400,000-a-week (£20.8million-a-year) and become the highest paid shot stopper in the world.
Transfer: Report – Man United could move in to sign winger for £25million
The British source (The Sun) have reported that the 28-year-old star is ready to commit his future to the Old Trafford club, who could secure the enormous contract before the fixtures against PSG (UCL) and Liverpool (PL) next month.
His form did dip during the World Cup and after but since the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the interim boss, he has returned to top form and was absolutely sensational against Tottenham last weekend.
The Spaniard made 11 saves against Spurs to help United earn all three points at the Wembley Stadium. Not to forget, last season, he made 14 saves helping the Red Devils defeat Arsenal in their own backyard.
We have had some world class goal keepers like Schmeichel and Van der Sar at the club but I think, De Gea is the best shot stopper we have ever had.
He has won the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year prize on four occasions (four times in the past five years), more than anyone else since the award was introduced in 1988.
The La Roja star is invaluable and United faithful would be absolutely delighted with this news that he is prepared to stay with the team.
