Report – Manager plots move to secure £375,000-a-week star signing from Man Utd

Pochettino Solskjaer

Manchester United star David De Gea used to be world class but in the past couple of years, the Spanish international has been average.

He is currently the highest earning star at the club but after 10 years, I think it is time to let him leave.

Transfer: Man Utd have made strong offer to sign midfielder with £86million clause – Report

According to an exclusive report covered by The Sun, PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino is plotting a move to secure the signing of De Gea from the Old Trafford outfit.

The British outlet have mentioned that the French champions are one of the few clubs who can afford to pay the wages of £375,000-a-week and come up with an offer that will convince the Red Devils to sell their star shot stopper.

The 30-year-old La Roja star has won the most Player of the Year awards at Man United (four times). Many a times, he has single handedly saved the side thanks to his outstanding displays in goal.

However, he had a poor World Cup in 2018 and since then, his form has been highly average. Last season, his blunders got Man Utd eliminated from the FA Cup.

Solskjaer has already lured his long term replacement in the form of Dean Henderson. The English goalie had a much better season than De Gea last term while playing on loan for Sheffield United.

It is time for Ole to make Henderson the first choice shot stopper at the club and if a decent offer arrives for De Gea in the summer, he must be sold. What do you think?

  1. No brainer. Henderson is clearly better. De gea is/was a great shot-stopper, but there is more to being a great goalkeeping than that. The great goalkeepers (Peter Schmeichel) command their area, are brave and decisive. De gea is none of those things. Henderson is, and he could be great.
