Serious Man Utd sole bidder to sign £64million star – Report

Erling Haaland Dortmund

Manchester United have been after Erling Braut Haaland for a long time and the latest reports suggest that currently, they are the sole serious bidder to sign him.

According to Sport Bild (via Sport Witness) the Norwegian international could leave next summer for a fee of 75 million euros (£64million) i.e. the release clause in his contract.

Transfer: Man United move in to sign £100,000-a-week star – Report

The renowned German news source have mentioned that there are a number of suitors for the former Salzburg center forward but at the moment, Man Utd are the only serious bidder to secure his signature.

It is stated that Man City are still dreaming about luring Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur and Raiola would not be keen on sending his client to Bayern where Lewandowski is irreplaceable. On the other hand, PSG is not Haaland’s preferred destination.

In such a scenario, Man Utd may have the edge but Sports Bild claim that the Old Trafford outfit must qualify for the next season’s Champions League to sign the 21-year-old striker.

It must be remembered that Dortmund have been ousted from the Champions League and Haaland can only take part in the Europe’s elite competition this term if he leaves the German club in the January transfer window.

Haaland has directly contributed in 96 goals (76 goals and 20 assists) in just 74 appearances since moving to BvB last year. He is without doubt one of the best finishers in the world.

In your view, should Man Utd, who can offer him CL football this season, move to sign him next month?
