As per team news, Lisandro Martínez and Joshua Zirkzee’s seasons were already over due to their respective injuries. Moreover, Diogo Dalot, Toby Collyer, and Ayden Heaven have been out and aren’t in contention to feature tonight.

Matthijs de Ligt recently returned from an injury but picked up an issue last time out vs. Brentford. So, he isn’t going to be available in this game. Thankfully, his problem isn’t serious, and he could be able to return before the end of this season.

Christian Eriksen and Jonny Evans weren’t in training ahead of this crucial fixture, still the Dane could be available. Chido Obi made his full debut for United last time out but isn’t eligible to feature today.

Noussair Mazraoui was rested in the last game and is set to return.

Expected Man Utd lineup vs Athletic Club

Ruben Amorim made a wholesale change to his starting XI vs Brentford last weekend, but they are all set to be recalled. He might make seven changes to his line-up, and Andre Onana should be in goal, so Altay Bayindir is likely to be among the substitutes.

Leny Yoro, Harry Maguire, and Luke Shaw could be the back three for the hosts, while Mazraoui and Patrick Dorgu are expected to be the wing-backs. Therefore, Victor Lindelof and Amad Diallo may feature off the bench.

Manuel Ugarte is set to be paired up with Casemiro in midfield. Therefore, Kobbie Mainoo and Eriksen would have to make do with a place on the bench.

Bruno Fernandes should return to the line-up following a rare weekend break, and he may be alongside Alejandro Garnacho in the CAM position. Hence, Mason Mount would return to the bench despite scoring last weekend.

Rasmus Hojlund is likely to be leading the line for the Old Trafford club. Here is predicted Man Utd line-up vs Athletic Club:
