The summer transfer window will open in more than two months, still, Manchester United are already linked with numerous quality players.
The Old Trafford club must sign a top center half, they were linked with Maguire last year and now the Leicester City defender is on their wish-list again.
According to an exclusive report covered by The Daily Star, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is yet to get a permanent managerial deal, has urged Man Utd to secure the signing of Maguire so that he can build his defence around the England international.
The Red Devils were looking at a figure of £65million but as per an updated report covered by the British source, they could have to pay a lot more. United made an offer of £75million last year, the offer was rejected and the Foxes demanded a world record fee of at least £80million.
Transfer: Man Utd ready to offer £73m fee and £21m terms to sign star
This time around, The Daily Star claim that Man Utd might have to splash as high as £90million to hire his services in the summer.
Maguire had a solid last campaign with Leicester and afterwards, he was one of England’s best players at the 2018 World Cup.
He is a strong center half who does contribute in the attacking third as well. This season, he has so far netted 3 goals in 26 league appearances.
In my view, Maguire has got quality but he has not done enough to be praised as world class. At £90million, United should be able to lure a world class center half.
Therefore, Solskjaer must forget about Maguire if Leicester demand a penny more than £65million. For £90million, the Norwegian boss could perhaps lure someone like Napoli superstar Koulibaly.
For 90m! You must be joking. Take Alderweireld for 26m. About the same calibre – mediocre.
