Manchester United are closing in to seal the signing of a new manager in the form of Ruben Amorim, whose Sporting CP side were in action last night.
A few hours ago, the Portuguese coach said that no decision has been made on his future as yet but the latest reports this morning suggest otherwise.

As per today’s edition of Correio da Manha (news image provided below), before the Taca da Liga contest against Nacional, Amorim confirmed that he will ‘leave’ the club to sign for Manchester United.
The renowned media outlet have mentioned that the manager tried to justify his ‘decision’ but majority of the stars were left in ‘shock’ and were extremely disappointed.
As per CdM, several key players refused transfer offers in the summer because Amorim was staying and now, they feel ‘defrauded’ by the fact that the coach is abandoning the ship at such an early stage of the campaign to join a struggling Manchester United side.
It is stated that news ‘fell like a bomb’ in the dressing room before the game vs Nacional, but the players stepped up to win the contest 3-1.
That was perhaps the last game of the 39-year-old coach’s reign at Sporting as reports indicate that he could be in the managerial hotseat at Old Trafford in time to face Chelsea next weekend.
Ruben Amorim helped Sporting win the Liga Nos after almost twenty years, will he be able to end the decade long Premier League title drought at Manchester United?
