Step aside Liverpool – Man Utd close to signing yet another Anfield target – Journalist

Adrien Rabiot France

French international, Adrien Rabiot, became a free agent when his contract with Juventus expired last month.

Previous reports in the media have indicated that the versatile central midfielder has been offered to a host of clubs and he wants a deal worth £7.6million a year to join.

More recently, French journalist, Romain Collet-Gaudin, has revealed that Rabiot is in talks with both Man Utd and Liverpool.

However, the blow for the Anfield side is that the 29-year-old star prefers to sign for the Red Devils and is close to joining them.

Liverpool have already lost a key defensive target to Man Utd when the Old Trafford outfit broke the bank secure Leny Yoro from Lille.

Now, a proven quality midfielder in the form of Rabiot also wants to move to the 20-time English champions instead of the 19-time English champions.

Even without Champions League football next season, the lure of Manchester United is too good to turn down for top players.

Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro helped Bologna and Lille book places in Europe’s premier competition, but have opted to join United even though they will take part in the Europa League.

Now, Rabiot, who helped the Bianconeri earn a place back in the Champions League, is also willing to seal a move to Man Utd and not Liverpool, who play CL next term.

July is turning out to be a productive transfer month for Erik ten Hag. Having already strengthened the defense and the strike-force, the arrival of a decorated and experienced star like Adrien Rabiot, will surely reinforce the midfield at Man Utd.
