Ten Hag’s Man Utd will press to sign £290,000 a week play breaker – Report

N'Golo Kante and Griezmann

Reports in the media suggest that Manchester United are interested in signing Chelsea’s star play breaker, N’Golo Kante.

According to an exclusive story covered by The Mirror, Erik ten Hag wants to lure the French international as he thinks that the veteran midfielder has the drive that can improve the youngsters at Old Trafford.

Transfer: Man Utd in contact to finally sign £29.7million star – Report

Kante has proved to be one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. He was a key member of the Leicester City side that won the title in 2016 and a year later, he was awarded the PFA Player of the Year trophy for helping Chelsea win the PL.

The 31-year-old World Cup-winning star was brilliant for the Blues in their Champions League-winning last campaign and in the final of the European Cup, he kept a world-class playmaker like De Bruye quiet.

Taking into consideration all his success and experience, The Mirror claim that Man Utd will press to tempt the Stamford Bridge club to sell Kante.

The French international’s current contract with Chelsea will expire in a year and he earns a salary of around £290,000 a week (The Mail).

Man Utd have been poor at the back and one of the main reasons behind their defensive fragility is that they do not have a specialist play breaker in front of the defense.

33-year-old Matic, who is past his best, will be leaving Man Utd at the end of the campaign and in all fairness, it would make little sense to sign another veteran like Kante to replace him. Instead, Ten Hag should lure a young and quality DM.

In your view, who should the Dutchman sign to reinforce the midfield this summer?
