Another day, another report about Bruno Fernandes, who is consistently linked with Manchester United.

As far as the latest update is concerned, things are looking positive in the Portuguese media. Last night, the attacking midfielder played for full 90 minutes vs Maritimo in a contest that Sporting CP won 1-0 thanks to the goal scored by Borja in the 76th minute.

Transfer: Man United will move to sign “brilliant” £50million+ player in summer – Report

In Tuesday’s early morning report covered by O JOGO, it is mentioned that the 25-year-old may have played his last game for the club and he is on the verge of joining Man Utd, whose business with the Lions is in the process of materializing.

Silas is not sure whether or not Fernandes has played his last game. The Sporting boss has claimed that it will be a big loss if the captain ends up leaving but it is his job to find solutions for the club (O JOGO).

“Any team that had Bruno and lost him clearly would be resentful. We will resent if we lose him; but if we lose him we will have to try to find the right solutions.”

The Primeira Liga club had lost their last two games before last night’s fixture and the supporters whistled and jeered the team. However, Silas tried to play it down and said that it was just a bit of frustration from the fans.

Fernandes has scored for fun in the past 18 months but in the last three games, he has been unable to find the net. Overall, the former Udinese attacker has directly contributed in 29 goals (15 goals and 14 assists) in 28 appearances (all competitions) this term.

Man United managed to score 6 goals in the latest FA Cup fixture but that was against a weak Tranmere Rovers side, who are currently 21st in the League One. In the Premier League, the Red Devils have struggled to find any sort of consistency and lack quality in their attack/midfield.

Will Man Utd be able to finalize the signing of Bruno Fernandes before the transfer deadline? Only time will tell.

  2. Sack Ed Woodward immediately, he is responsible for all the woes of Man Utd that they are facing now. Such an incompetent, irresponsible, visionless man. Just cannot imagine the Glazers are still hanging on to him. There are many capable candidates available out there to fill in his place.
