£120,000-a-week star could seal Man United move in summer – Report

Tottenham Hotspur's Hugo Lloris saves a shot on goal during their English Premier League soccer match against Manchester United

Manchester United are in search of a new goal keeper and the latest reports suggest that a proven quality shot stopper could end up sealing a move to Old Trafford in the summer.

Few days back, we covered a report (via Football Insider) claiming that De Gea and Romero could depart Man Utd, who are eyeing the signing of Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez.

Transfer: Keen Man Utd consider offer to sign £130,000-a-week forward

Today, L’Equipe have covered an interesting story. It is claimed that Tottenham are looking to sign Mike Maignan, who has been in top class form for Lille this season.

In 30 Ligue 1 appearances, the 25-year-old French goalie has kept 16 clean sheets and conceded just 19 goals.

The renowned French source have mentioned that with the arrival of Maignan, Lloris could finally leave Spurs for a one final big move in his career. It is stated that the 34-year-old star could seal a summer move to Man Utd, who are in the market for a new goalie.

Lloris is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League, he has played over 350 games for Spurs but has not won a single title with them. That could change if Spurs end up beating Man City in the League Cup final next month.

The veteran goalie is still France’s No.1 goalkeeper, who captained them in the World Cup winning campaign (2018) and it will not come as any surprise to see him being the main man at this summer’s European Championships.

It must also be taken into consideration that skipper Lloris only earns around £120,000-a-week (The Independent) with Tottenham, who are paying £200,000-a-week to star striker Harry Kane (The Guardian).

He surely deserves to earn more and more importantly needs to move to a club that can help him win trophies. Man Utd’s highest earner is De Gea who gets over £350,000-a-week (Sky Sports), so, the Red Devils can hand Lloris a bumper deal but they have not won a title in the past three seasons and won their last league trophy back in 2013.

In your view, should Man Utd move to sign Hugo Lloris in the summer transfer window?
