After failed bid, Man Utd told £41.9million will finally get signing done

Manchester United have been knocked out of the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup. Moreover, they are currently in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

Their awful campaign can be saved if they win the Europa League trophy, however, Ruben Amorim has said that ‘nothing’ can make this season a success.

The Red Devils’ hierarchy didn’t hand the Portuguese boss many new signings in the winter window to help him implement his style of football and turn the situation around. Only Patrick Dorgu joined from Lecce.

However, they are expected to remain busy in the summer window. It has been reported that Amorim wants a new striker but purchasing a new RWB is also on his wishlist.

Italian outlet, Inter Live, state that Man Utd have registered their interest in Inter Milan star, Denzel Dumfries, and the Nerazzurri would be open to cashing-in on him if they receive an offer of around £41.9m this summer.

United hold a long-term interest in the Dutchman and even launched a formal proposal, including Aaron Wan-Bissaka in a part-exchange deal to hire him last summer.

But, Simone Inzaghi’s side rejected the offer and in the end, the Englishman joined West Ham United, while Dumfries decided to sign a fresh deal at Giuseppe Meazza Stadium until 2028.

Inter Live claim that Amorim’s side aren’t the only club interested in Dumfries as Arsenal and Chelsea are also pondering a move for him.

Dumfries has been playing as an RWB in the back three under Inzaghi, hence, he would be an ideal option to play in Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system.

The 28-year-old has scored eight goals and registered two assists in all competitions thus far this season. He has even been helping his side mount a Serie A title charge having guided them to win the Scudetto last term.

In your view, should Man Utd finally sign Dumfries?
