How Man Utd could line up with £85.6million star

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United lack quality and depth in their strike-force after letting Lukaku and Sanchez leave in the summer transfer window and now, they are linked with a highly in form striker.

Two days back, we covered a report via Dagbladet claiming that Man Utd have moved well in front of the queue to sign RB Salzburg center forward Erling Haaland, who could leave in the winter transfer window and is valued at 100 million euros (£85.6million).

Transfer: Man Utd have held talks to agree deal for £190,000-a-week winger before summer window

The question is, how will United line up if the Norwegian international does end up moving to Man Utd in January?

In the current campaign, Solskjaer have used the likes of Martial and Rashford in the center forward position but it must be remembered that the French international is not an out and out striker.

On the other hand, the England international is also not a natural No. 9 and over the years, numerous managers have utilized him on the flanks.

Therefore, Manchester United need a natural goalscorer and a clinical finisher like Haaland, who has been in red hot form for Salzburg, completely fits the bill. The teenage sensation has already netted 26 goals in just 18 appearances for the Austiran club in the current campaign.

This season, the likes of Rashford, Martial and James have been our three in form attacking players and they should always start in my opinion. So, Solskjaer might need to change the usual 4-2-3-1 system in order to fit the trio with Haaland in the starting XI.

In my view, United could use the traditional 4-4-2 formation to fit in all the stars. Since Martial has mostly started in the CF role under Solskjaer, he could form a strike partnership with Haaland up front. On the other hand, Rashford and James could start on the flanks.
