Manchester United have just entered a new era under Ruben Amorim. The 39-year-old Portuguese tactician has taken over the Red Devils and he will be coming in with his own set of ideas and players that he wants to purchase.
Amorim played a 3-4-3 with Sporting CP for much of his time there. This system required wing-backs who have incredible energy to go up and down the field for the entirety of the game.

They are tasked with providing all the width and it is a physically demanding role.
On the right, Manchester United have Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui. On the left, as good as Luke Shaw has been when fit, his body simply will not allow the Englishman to meet the demands of going up and down the flank for an entire game, some times twice a week.
Thus, the Red Devils might need to sign someone who can cover for Luke Shaw, rotate with him and eventually replace him. Previously, one player who has been linked with Man Utd is Fulham defender Antonee Robinson, and they are pressing to sign the £40million-rated player.
Ex-scout Mick Brown, as quoted by Football Insider, has praised Antonee Robinson for growing leaps and bounds as a player. He said:
“I think Robinson is a really good player. If ever there was an example of a player who has improved, it’s him. There were big questions at one stage about his defensive abilities. But he’s improved in that department and he’s so dangerous going forward.”
Robinson has emerged as one of Marco Silva’s most trustworthy players. He goes up and down the left flank. He has always been good going forward but it is his work in defense that has seen his stocks rise through the roof.
It remains to be seen how Manchester United go about signing the 27-year-old defender.
Have your say – Man Utd sign Antonee Robinson to finally solve the left back conundrum at Old Trafford?
