Man United backed to sign ‘quailty’ £80million attacking midfielder and a striker

Jack Grealish goal vs Man Utd

Jack Grealish continues to be linked with a move away from Aston Villa and an Old Trafford legend has backed Man United to sign the attacking midfielder in the summer.

Few days back, we covered a report (via The Mail) claiming that the relegation threatened side have slapped a mammoth asking price of £80million on Grealish and are not going to drop it.

More recently, Ryan Giggs told the Premier League Productions that the 24-year-old attacking midfielder looks like a United player. He said (via The Sun):

“He (Grealish) looks like a United player, he takes the ball, he attracts loads of fouls. I mean, if a quality player like that comes available, United are going to be (interested)”.

However, the retired Welsh footballer further mentioned that only one top signing would not be enough for the Red Devils to compete for the title. The 46-year-old stated that the club need more signings and should lure a center forward.

“I still think if we’re going to catch City, we’re three or four players short.I would say that we definitely need a centre-forward. Someone who, if a team is deep, is going to play deep and be on the end of those passes, crosses and score 25 goals.”

Robin van Persie was the last player to score more than 20 league goals for us in a league campaign. That was back in 2012-13 when we won our last league title. So, Solskjaer definitely needs to sign a top center forward.

As far as Grealish is concerned, the Birmingham based boy has been in top form for Villa, who surely deserves to be in a better team.

He scored a world class goal against us at Old Trafford and has what it takes to improve the squad, that lacks quality and depth in the attacking third. We shall see how the transfer saga unfolds in the coming weeks.
