We covered an article two days ago revealing that Manchester United were set for talks with the 29-year-old World Cup runner-up and that £12.6m signing fee plus wages will get the deal done. Being a free agent, Rabiot is not going to come cheap.
As per Give Me Sport, now, Man United have been told that a £11.4 million a year (£220,000 a week) deal will be sufficient to secure the signature of Adrien Rabiot. The player is keen to continue in Europe and is waiting for an offer from a top club.
The Les Bleus star brings a truckload of experience to the table and at 29, he is in the sweet spot of his career. Having played for clubs like PSG and Juventus in the past, he has the know-how of performing on the biggest stage.
Let’s also not forget that Rabiot has been a regular starter in a star-studded France line-up under Didier Deschamps. His presence is the perfect foil to the other, flair-filled players in the team and he helps do what the others don’t.
One big thing with the midfielder is his adaptability. Erik ten Hag can count on him to play a role in the team wherever he needs him. The talented French star’s biggest plus is that he understands his positives and negatives really well.
Ultimately, it could come down to whether or not Man United are willing to pay the cash to make this Rabiot deal happen. The Frenchman’s agent, who happens to be his mother is a tough negotiator and let’s see how these talks pan out.
