Multiple reports coming from Italy today have indicated that Man United are closing in to hire the services of Joshua Zirkzee.

Couple of hours ago, we covered a story via Libero claiming that the Red Devils are close to reaching an agreement with the agent for the Netherlands center forward.

Now, Corriere di Bologna have published a piece stating that Zirkzee’s departure from Bologna is certain and he ‘should end up at Manchester United’.

The Italian media outlet claim the Rossoblu are ‘about to lose’ the 23-year-old striker, who netted 12 goals in all competitions last term.

CdB state Zirkzee is ‘ready to accept’ a move to Man United, who ‘will’ activate the release clause by agreeing the fee of £33.9m (40 million euros).

Unlike Libero, CorBologna have not even mentioned the name of rivals, AC Milan, who have been pushing to sign the former Bundesliga striker.

Therefore, it seems that United are on the verge of winning the race to lure Zirkzee.

In the past few years, the Old Trafford outfit have offloaded numerous center forwards like Ronaldo, Cavani and Weghorst.

Most recently, French star, Anthony Martial, has left the club upon the expiry of his contract last month.

In such a scenario, signing a new striker is important for Man United and it appears Zirkzee will be the one to replace the former Monaco star in the team.
