However, O Jogo, in the story published in their newspaper today claim that no such offer was made by the Old Trafford outfit.

The media outlet state Benfica are have not received any official proposal for the sale of the 19-year-old midfielder as yet.

Still, Man Utd and PSG retain strong interest and are taking firm steps ‘towards completing the deal’ to sign Joao Neves.

The teenage sensation has been top class for Benfica in the No.6 position and even though he has not featured a lot at the European Championships, his value remains extremely high.

As per O Jogo, Man Utd boss, Erik ten Hag, who has recently extended his stay at the club, sees Neves as a priority signing to reinforce things in the center.

To seal an agreement with Benfica, the Premier League side will have to reach the ‘threshold’ of £84.7million i.e. 100 million euros.

Neves made no fewer than 55 appearances in all competition for the Liga Nos giants last term and could be an ideal long term replacement of Man Utd star, Casemiro.

In your view, how big should Man Utd bid to secure his signing this summer?
