Man Utd have ‘moved’ to sign £85m+ star, already offering huge salary – Report

Man Utd have moved to sign Ronald Araujo from Barcelona, who have now raised the asking fee to over £85m, as per reports.

According to a story published by Mundo Deportivo today, the Catalan giants consider the player non-transferable but the situation can change if he wishes to leave.

Last week, we covered a report via Sport claiming that Man Utd offer to double the salary to sign the central defender and Barca value him at 75 million euros.

However, MD now claim that if Araujo decides to leave, then he must bring in a massive offer to improve the accounts of the Blaugrana.

It is stated that Barca want to agree a new deal with the Uruguayan, whose current deal will expire in two years.

If he does not renew and wants out, then a fee of over £85m (100 million euros) must be agreed for his departure.

The Catalan source mention that Man Utd have ‘moved for Ronald’ Araujo, but they are not alone in the race as the likes of Chelsea and Bayern are also looking to secure his siganture.

For now, the South American is taking part in the Copa America. The 25-year-old has so far featured in all the group games and set up the winning goal in the last fixture against USA.

Uruguay will now collide against five-time World Champions, Brazil, in the last eight.

Man Utd are finding it hard to pay £70million for Jarrad Branthwaite, therefore, it will be a huge shock if they end up paying over £85m for Araujo.
