Manchester United have been linked with Giorgio Scalvini this month and the latest reports indicate they lead the race to agree his signing.

According to Foot Mercato, the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and United are interested in luring the Italian international from Atalanta.

Transfer: Man Utd prepare move for perfect signing of £50million versatile player – Report

The French news outlet have mentioned that Man Utd have monitored the player for some time and are ahead of the competition.

At the moment, Old Trafford is surely not an attractive destination as compared to PSG and Bayern. However, as per the report, United are leading both the French and the German champions to sign Scalvini.

FM claim the La Dea are looking for a fee of 50 million euros to offload their prized asset. The asking price is lower than what has been reported in Italy earlier this month.

Renowned Italian journalist, Alfredo Pedulla, revealed suitors will have to agree a fee of 60 million euros (£51.7million) to secure the 20-year-old from the Bergamo side.

Atalanta are currently 6th in the Serie A, three points behind Fiorentina, who currently occupy the final Champions League qualification spot.

So, ideally, they would want to hold on to Scalvini, their prized asset, in the winter transfer window.

Manchester United are nine points behind fourth placed Gunners and must improve their backline to have any chance of earning a place in next season’s CL.

In your view, should Man Utd splash the cash to seal the signing of Giorgio Scalvini?
