Man Utd now offer under £30m asking fee for midfield signing with personal terms no issue – Report

Bunrley Sander Berge

After reinforcing the defense and the attack this summer, Manchester United are focused on strengthening the midfield before the closure of the summer transfer window.

Man Utd are linked with more than few midfielders and one of them is Burnley’s Sander Berge.

Transfer: Man Utd prepared to agree £34m fee, pay more than competition to secure signing

Earlier this month, The Sun revealed that the Red Devils could agree personal terms of a contract worth £100,000 a week with the Norwegian, who is valued at £30m and excited about the prospect of playing for the Old Trafford club.

Now, as per a story published by The Mail this morning (news image provided below), Man Utd have moved in with an offer for Sander Berge.

However, the British media outlet state that the bid has fallen short of the £30m valuation set by the Clarets for the 26-year-old midfielder.

If signed, Berge will likely replace Scott McTominay, who is linked with a move away from Man Utd this summer.

The Mail claim Fulham submitted a £20m bid for the Scottish international but it was turned down, and now the London club have revived talks to get the deal over the line.

On the other hand, 2022-23 Italian champions, Napoli, are also interested in the United midfielder but they would like to do a loan deal.

Ten Hag’s priority to improve things in the center of the park is to sign Manuel Ugarte but United need PSG to drop the asking price.

The Uruguayan is going to cost way more than Sander Berge and if Man Utd are only willing to pay under £30m for the Norwegian, then they might not be able to afford the signing of the South American.

The potential departure of McTominay can help United attain funds to secure the signing of a new midfielder.

In your view, who should Man Utd sign to reinforce the department before deadline?
