Man Utd seem to be making the next move in the transfer window after wrapping up the signings of Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro. The Red Devils are actively pursuing a move for Matthijs de Ligt of Bayern Munich and are set to submit a bid for him.
Next up, according to Catalan publication, Nacional, Man Utd are offering £33.7m to Barcelona for Fermin Lopez. The La Masia graduate has shot to limelight under Xavi Hernandez in the last 12 months.

We covered a story by SPORT last month claiming Man Utd moved in with an initial £25.4m bid to sign the Blaugrana midfielder. That approach was turned down by Barca and our latest bid might be met with a similar response.
As per Nacional, the Nou Camp outfit have decided to keep the player, they don’t consider selling him and will demand his €400m release clause from the Premier League giants if they want to secure his signature. Frankly, this is outlandish.
The Euro 2024 winner, who made just a single appearance in the competition, is talented and brings with him a very unique goalscoring threat from midfield but in all fairness, no club is paying his release clause. This is Barcelona’s way of saying that Fermin Lopez is not for sale.
If there is something that the Spanish club are known for, it is their ability to retain homegrown talent like no other club in the world. Despite their financial predicament in the last few seasons, the club have refrained from selling academy stars to make pure profits.
Fermin Lopez has had one good season at the top most level of football in which he scored 8 goals in the La Liga. £33.7m is about how much Man Utd must offer if they are interested in signing him. Offering more for the 21-year-old might not be merited at the moment.
Barcelona seem to be showing no inclination to negotiate. It’s time to stop pursuing the La Masia graduate and turn our attention to more realistic targets.
