Manchester United’s Paul Pogba would be free to leave next summer if he does not sign a new deal with the club.
Reports have suggested that the Red Devils are prepared to agree a fresh contract with the French international. On the other hand, they are looking at options to replace him.
Transfer: Man Utd told £51million would get signing done – Could offer £108,000-a-week star
According to a story covered by La Gazzetta Dello Sport (press image provided below), Man Utd are pressing to sign Franck Kessie from AC Milan in order to replace Pogba at Old Trafford.
The Ivorian international will also be out of contract in the summer of 2022 and so far, AC Milan have not been able to convince him with their contract offer.
The Italian news source have mentioned that Pogba is currently earning around 14 million euros net (£230,000-a-week) with the PL giants and Kessie, who is just earning 2.2million euros a year will be happy to accept terms worth 8 million euros a year (£132,000-a-week).
Kessie can effectively play in the defensive and central midfield roles and he was brilliant for the Rossoneri in the last campaign. The 24-year-old directly contributed in 19 goals (13 goals and 6 assists) to help his team earn Champions League qualification.
In the current campaign, his performances have not been good. So far, in 7 appearances, he is yet to score or create a goal for Stefano Pioli’s team.
Man Utd do need a central/defensive midfielder to improve things in the center of park. Do you think they should agree terms worth £132,000-a-week to sign Franck Kessie?
