From Portugal – Man Utd reach agreement with £59m star, latest on negotiations revealed

Ugarte Uruguay

Manchester United continue in their pursuit of landing a defensive midfielder and are consistently linked with Manuel Ugarte.

As per today’s edition of Portuguese source, Record (news image provided below), Man Utd have reached an agreement with Ugarte, but is taking a ‘long time to convince’ Paris Saint-Germain.

News – From Spain – Man Utd ‘positioning’ to secure signing of £50.7m attacker – ‘Great interest’

The media outlet have mentioned that the only thing remaining is the agreement between the two clubs for the transfer of the player.

Man Utd have no problems in agreeing terms with Ugarte, however, reaching a deal with PSG is proving to be ‘much more complicated’ than expected.

The Ligue 1 champions want a fee of £59m for their prized asset even though he is not their first choice holding midfield star.

The above mentioned valuation is considered excessive by Man Utd and Record claim, the deal seems to have reached an ‘impasse’.

Which is why, the 20-time English champions are looking at alternatives and are even considering signing Sofyan Amrabat on a permanent transfer from Fiorentina.

A low fee of £10.9million would be enough to secure the signature of the Moroccan international from the Viola.

Moreover, the likes of Sporting CP’s Morten Hjulmand, and Monaco’s Fofana, are also on the radar of the Old Trafford club.

Nevertheless it seems clear that the first choice to improve the No.6 position is Manuel Ugarte.

Having already paid over the odds to land French center back, Leny Yoro, in your view, should Man Utd now break the bank and pay £59m to sign the Uruguayan midfielder?
