Man Utd ready to agree fee, will negotiate contract in days to sign £43million star – Report

Erik ten Hag - Manchester United manager

Earlier in the day, we covered a story via Marca claiming that Manchester United are prepared to pay £43million to sign Pau Torres from Villarreal.

The latest updates coming from Spain are much more optimistic and should excite the Old Trafford faithful.

Transfer: Ten Hag hopes to seal £60million first signing for Man United – Report

According to a report covered by El Periodico Mediterraneo today (press image provided below), Torres’ current contract with the El Madrigal outfit has a release clause of 60 million euros.

However, it is stated that as far as the current market is concerned, the La Liga side are going to demand a fee of 50 million euros (£43million) to sell their star central defender.

The Spanish source have mentioned that Man Utd are ready to agree the asking fee of £43million to hire the services of the La Furia Roja star in the summer transfer window.

In such a scenario, El Periodico Mediterraneo report that agents, Tarraga and Fores, will travel to Manchester this week to negotiate Torres’ contract with Man United.

The media outlet further state that the 25-year-old center half wanted to stay in the La Liga but it seems that he will be playing in the Premier League with the Old Trafford club.

Have your say – Do you think Pau Torres is good enough to solve the defensive conundrum at Man United?

If Ten Hag does end up signing him, should he utilize the Spaniard with Varane or Maguire in the central defense?
