Following a 2-0 defeat against relegation-threatened Wolverhampton Wanderers on Boxing Day, Manchester United now lose four out of the last five Premier League encounters.
As a result, they have currently found themselves 14th in the Premier League table with 22 points from 18 games. This is the lowest position for United at Christmas in the Premier League era.

So, Man Utd will have to overhaul the squad to turn their fortune around and fight for big prizes once again in future. Speaking on Men in Blazers Podcast, transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, said that the Red Devils want to strengthen the LWB position and are serious about signing AFC Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez.
Liverpool are also interested in Kerkez but Man Utd’s interest is more serious and have been monitoring him actively before making a potential move. Romano said:
“For Milos Kerkez, I think keep an eye on Manchester United, because Man United are also looking at that position. Man Utd, I’m told, are more concrete than Liverpool in this monitoring activity for Milos Kerkez.”
Kerkez still has a contract until 2028 at Vitality Stadium, meaning the Cherries are in a strong position to demand a big fee to sell him and want around £50m.
Man Utd have been struggling with the LWB position in recent times as Luke Shaw has been out injured and Tyrell Malacia hasn’t been at his best after returning to action following a lengthy injury absence.
The Dutchman was even dropped from the matchday squad completely vs Wolves last night, therefore this suggests Amorim hasn’t been impressed by him.
Hence, Diogo Dalot has been providing cover in this position but the Portuguese is more comfortable on the opposite side.
Kerkez has been in excellent form this season and was especially impressive in victories of Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenak.
