Man Utd serious about signing £70,000-a-week play breaker – Report

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United have been linked with a move to hire the services of Marcelo Brozovic for quite some time and the latest reports suggest that they are serious about signing the Croatian international.

A few days back, we covered a report (via La Gazzetta Dello Sport) claiming that the Old Trafford outfit could revive their interest in luring the Inter Milan play breaker.

Transfer: Man Utd submit lucrative offer to sign £215,000 a week wanted playmaker – Report

More recently, Calcio Mercato have confirmed that Man Utd are seriously thinking about bringing the 28-year-old star to the club.

The Italian news outlet have mentioned that Pogba, whose contract with the Red Devils will expire in June 2022, could leave, moreover, bench warmer Van de Beek may depart as well. In such a scenario, United are looking to improve things in the center of the park and Brozovic is on the radar.

The World Cup finalist’s current deal with the Nerazzurri will expire in June 2022 as well and at the moment, he is earning a relatively low salary of 4.2 million euros a year i.e around £70,000-a-week (TMW). Our record signing, Pogba, takes home £290,000 a week (The Mail).

In the summer transfer window, the Serie A champions lost two key players in the form of Lukaku and Hakimi. Losing Brozovic for absolutely nothing would be another massive blow.

The former Dinamo Zagreb man is a proven quality holding midfield star and at the moment, Man Utd do not have anyone who is good enough to provide a solid cover in front of the back four.

We clearly need a midfielder at the earliest. In your opinion, should Ole make an offer in January to lure Brozovic?

  1. Ole should sign both Brozovic and Ruben Neves then allow Pogba, Matic, Van daa beek and Phil Jones leave in January, if possibly exchange dalot with trippier despite his age
