Manchester United have been constantly linked with Erling Haaland in the past few weeks and the latest reports seem to be very positive for the Red Devils.
Few days back, Mirror Sport exclusively revealed that the teenage striker is keen on moving to the Old Trafford club in the winter transfer window.
More recently, yesterday evening, The Sun covered an exclusive story and claimed that the 19-year-old is close to agreeing a move to Man Utd on the condition that he would be loaned back to RB Salzburg for the remainder of the campaign.
The British source have mentioned that the Red Devils are confident of agreeing his signing for a fee worth £76million in January.
Since the retirement of Alex Ferguson, United have let go strikers like Van Persie, Falcao, Hernandez, Welbeck, Rooney, Ibrahimovic and most recently, Romelu Lukaku, who was lured for a mammoth fee of £75million in 2017 (BBC).
Currently, Solskjaer lacks quality and depth in his strike-force and therefore, a top center forward should be lured as soon as possible. As mentioned on several occasions on this site, Haaland has proved that he is a top quality goal scorer. His form in front of goal has been sensational.
Yes, the Austrian Bundesliga is not the toughest league in Europe but it must be remembered that the youngster managed to score 8 goals in just 4 starts in the group stages of this season’s Champions League, which is arguably the best club competition in the world.
If Haaland does end up moving to Old Trafford then I think he should replace Martial, who has been highly inconsistent in the CF role this season, and start as the lone striker up front in the 4-2-3-1 system, which is currently utilized by Solskjaer.
In your view, how should Manchester United line up if they end up signing Erling Haaland?
