Manchester United are closing in to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea and only the fee needs to be resolved between the two clubs.
A few days ago, it was reported that the England attacker has agreed terms of a contract with the Red Devils. Now, figures have been revealed as well.
Transfer: Man Utd set to agree £43million deal at least to secure signing
According to Football Insider, Man Utd have agreed a deal worth £10.4million a year, £200,000 a week, with the 24-year-old, who is a wanted player this summer.
Liverpool were serious about luring the Three Lions star but perhaps the lure of Champions League football have helped the Old Trafford club.
The news source claim Chelsea initially valued their prized asset at £80million but could now accept a bid of close to £70million.
Stan Collymore, thinks that the asking price for Mount is way too high and United will be making a huge mistake if they pay it. The former Anfield star stated (The Mirror):
“If I was calling the recruitment shots at Manchester United, I’d be steering well clear of paying north of £80m for Mason Mount,”
“If he was available for £40m, then I’d bite Chelsea’s hands off. But at the price being talked about, there is a whiff of United repeating their Harry Maguire mistake again.”
The Champions League winning playmaker will be out of contract this month, next year. Do you think he is overpriced?
In your opinion, how big should Man Utd bid to sign Mason Mount?
